Michael Kaeshammer

Saturday, March 7, 2026 - 8:00 PM CST

Something magical happens when Michael Kaeshammer sits at the piano. Sure, like all pianists, he plays 12 notes across 88 keys. But the musician and songwriter coaxes dazzling, kaleidoscopic sounds from his instrument in a way few can rival.

So, it’s no surprise that Turn It Up — Kaeshammer’s towering 15th album — is superb, a dynamic, rollicking collection though one stubbornly resistant to a single, catchall genre. “Eclectic yet accessible jazz-based pop” might come closest to the mark, but it doesn’t quite capture it all. Like his sprawling record collection, which houses everything from AC/DC to Erik Satie, Kaeshammer’s songs reflect his boundless appreciation of music in whatever form it takes.

Across a brilliant, globe-trotting career highlighted by nine tours of China, three appearances at the Olympics, and countless shows opposite international superstars, the German-born, B.C.-based Kaeshammer has electrified audiences with his indelible repertoire and consistently positive outlook on life which infuses his lyrics. “I am a very positive person,” confirms the seven-time JUNO Award nominee and unabashed foodie, who hosts cooking show Kaeshammer’s Kitchen on Vancouver Island’s CHEK TV. “I really love playing shows and being on-stage. If Turn It Up helps me to do more of that, then I’m all in. Music is my favourite thing to do.”

Cara Luft Album Release

Saturday, April 11, 2026 - 8:00 PM CST

One of Canada’s most acclaimed and much-loved singer-songwriters Cara Luft makes a long-anticipated return with a joyful solo album – her first in over 13 years. The culmination of a period of upheaval and transformation, the album is Cara’s most assured and personal work to date. Cara’s guiding principle was simple: to work with friends who embodied kindness, consideration and be generous of spirit.  From this ethos emerged the foundations of her new album and a trusted creative entourage she affectionately calls “the quadrangle of awesomeness”: musician/singer/songwriter Clayton Parsons (Creanbrook, BC), session musician/producer Soctt Poley (Liverpool, UK) and engineer Julia Graff (Vancouver, BC).  Recorded over 12 days in Vancouver, Cara, Scott and Clayton sang and played nearly everything themselves – guitars, banjos, electric bass and pedal steel – making it an intimate and cathartic experience. It showcases Cara’s remarkable musicianship and uncanny ability to sing about personal things that resonate deeply with the listener without descending into navel- gazing. “I want to create and offer a reflection of the human experience,” she explains. The result, My Heart Will Always Be, is a tour de force. The album is both a personal declaration and a celebration of music’s enduring power to heal, connect and bring joy.

Don Amero Trio

Friday, April 17, 2026 - 8:00 PM CST

Don Amero is a captivating singer whose soulful sound and heartfelt storytelling have made him one of Canada’s most beloved performers. A multiple JUNO and CCM Award nominee, Don has spent nearly the past two decades touring and speaking across the country, earning admiration for both his music and his message.

Of Cree and Métis heritage, Don brings authenticity and purpose to everything he does — from his powerful performances to his ongoing advocacy for Indigenous communities. Whether on stage or off, he leads with heart, hope, and a deep desire to uplift others.

Antonio Larosa is a country-rock and roots artist whose music blends the grit of blues, the soul of vintage rock, and the storytelling of classic country. With a voice that channels the spirit of Elvis Presley and the emotional weight of Chris Stapleton, Larosa creates songs that are heartfelt, lived-in, and unapologetically honest. Raised in Vancouver, BC, Larosa was drawn to the music of Johnny Cash, The Allman Brothers, BB King, and Roy Orbison from a young age. His music reflects those roots: raw, rhythmic, and filled with sincerity, but filtered through his own lens and life experiences.

After years of cutting his teeth on stages across Western Canada, he’s developed a reputation for his electric live shows, where blistering guitar work and vulnerable lyricism meet. In 2023 and 2025, Larosa was awarded Roots Artist of the Year by the BC Country Music Association, a milestone that affirmed the impact of his music and the path he’s been carving independently. His songs have been featured on SiriusXM and on editorial playlists across Spotify, Amazon Music, and Apple Music and he continues to build a loyal audience through his performances and recordings.

Crafts and Ceilidh 1 - Irish Session at The WECC

Sunday, April 19, 2026 - 2:30 PM CST

Crafts and Ceilidh 1

Sunday April 19th

West End Cultural Centre, 586 Ellice Ave.

Doors 1:30pm, Music 2:30pm – 6:00pm

$5

Join us for a session of Irish music (a ceilidh, pronounced kay-lee) in the hands of some of the top trad music players in Winnipeg. The musicians will play a million tunes, calling out a new one before the last one even ended. It is awesome. We’re going to feel like we’re in a movie. In the style of the ceilidh, let’s hang out, listen, grab a beer, pull out a craft (optional), get dancing (also optional) and stay a good long while!

Bring your crafts! Knitting, embroidering, collaging – basically anything that doesn’t require a power tool – it’s all welcome at this Crafts and Ceilidh event! WECC volunteer and knitting expert Barb will be handy to trouble shoot knitting issues. She will also do a knitting demo a few times: casting on and casting off. We’ve already got yarn and knitting needles collected for this event, so if you don’t have your own you’re welcome to come learn with our supplies!

We’ve kept this tickets for this event low, at $5. Grab yours now to guarantee your spot!

Stay tuned for Crafts and Ceilidh 2, Sunday May 17th!
